skilled care
Daniel G. Fish, The Distinction Between Skilled Care and Custodial Care, NYLJ, Aug. 11, 2021:
Skilled care is the type of medical care that can safely be provided only by a trained medical professional such as a doctor, nurse, physical therapist, speech therapist or occupational therapist. A heart transplant operation is an example of skilled medical care.
Other examples are intravenous therapy, intramuscular injections, wound care that requires sterile dressing, and catheter care.
