In Limits When Recording Video in Apple HomeKit and Eufy HomeBase (May 27, 2021), I noted that Apple allowed up to five cameras for a 2TB iCloud storage plan. This limit no longer exists. Apple now allows an unlimited number of cameras:
If you subscribe to iCloud+, you can view the last 10 days of activity from one to an unlimited number of HomeKit Secure Video cameras. The 50 GB iCloud+ plan supports a single camera, the 200 GB iCloud+ plan supports up to five cameras, and the 2 TB iCloud+ plan supports an unlimited number of cameras.
Further, “Video content doesn’t count against your iCloud storage limit.”
As a result of Apple removing the restriction on the number of cameras, I started testing my Eufy Indoor Pan & Tilt cameras with Apple Home. Although there are some limits to using a Eufy camera with Apple Home, accessing all of my smart accessories from one place is alluring.
